Another December birthday

The above picture is marked five months. If I wouldn't have had the little bonnet on her you would have seen "all that hair" I cut her bangs and she was only 5 months old.

Here she is with her "big" sister. I didn't have the age marked.

My Aunt Turie's husband Yone (short for Jonathan) made things to stick around in the lawn. He had brought this up to Grandpa and Grandma and we were there that evening. Judy and Phyllis both have french braids.

Thanksgiving 2009

Thanksgiving dinner at Wendell and Rita. John, Andrea, Anna, Wendell, Rita and me. Turkey, potato filling, green beans and cheese, baked pineapple, corn, rolls.

New great grandson. Noah

I traveled to Lancaster several weeks ago to visit Noah.

I brought Noah his crib quilt. Little boys drawn by his grandma, Toot.

It was so nice to spend time with this little family, hold the baby, and get a "tour" of their house. Matt has done a lot of renevating and updating on their home.

Home Improvement

The "perks" of working for Wexcon Wendell is digging a hole to "bury" my new propane tank.

It's set in the hole!
See why I needed a new tank. After complaining to the company that the tank looked so ugly, they said they were replacing the tanks. I said "OK' but I want it buried. They said I would have to hire someone to dig a hole and set it. That is no problem, since Wendell's men can use the equipment for personal reasons. Only I didn't just borrow the equipent. I also borrowed the equipment operator.

Wesley & Mindy's dedication

This is a terrible picture! I must have moved when I took it. Sam& Julie with Erik & Deb, also Deb's parents from Canada. Aubree was also with them, but she had been dedicated before Mindy was born. We were all invited to Erik's for dinner. Here is Wesley. He doesn't look undernourished does he? He has blue eyes like Aubree. Mindy has the brown eyes.

Here is "Grandma Julie" with Wesley. Deb said she was making left overs! I guess the turkey was left over, but it was good. They celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving yesterday, but she made mashed potatoes fresh. She also heated up some left over sweet potatoes and had cooked corn. It was all very good. Later in the afternoon I went to Martha's house. We played games, as usual.

October 9

At least I got one picture in honor of a birthday. John,Daddy, Grandpa - no more pain and no growing old! I wanted to add other pics too, but I am still having trouble knowing how to use this new scanner.

Other birthdays on October 9: Katy Geesaman, Kaelyn Geesaman, and my friend Betty Naftzinger. She is my playing singing buddy who goes with me to the local nursing home to sing.

Who had a birthday last week?

This picture was taken when I had a lot of music pupils- before we moved to Coatesville and every spring we had a recital at the church for my students. The year Heidi participated I had 33 students. There were 30 who participated in the recital, including several students who played duets with their sibling. Heidi played "Skip To My Lou". In the closing song, two sisters, little Korean girls played "Over the Waves" as a duet.

For some reason, I couldn't get this to post on Heidi's birthday and today, no problem! Crazy computers!!

week end in Rising Sun

Martha and I traveled to Rising Sun, Saturday morning. Martha's sister lives in Rising Sun, so I dropped her off at Erma's for the week end. Toot was working at Milburn Orchard. Her boss has a stand there and Toot earns extra money for their vacation.

This is Joy in the green shirt, Toot's co-worker. They do quite a business, and will be working week ends through October.

Besides food and apples, they have LOTS of pumpkins. They had a pen with goats that the children were petting, a maze built with hay bales, a large sand box for the kids and various food stands.
Toot got home before 5 and we headed for Longwood Gardens. Toot has a season family plan and can take five people besides herself. Mark had leave and brought a friend along. She is Ashley and is a senior at Liberty University.
I wanted a picture with Mark, but am tired of always looking so short. So I stood on the curb and see- I am as tall as Mark!

Toot and Rod- she didn't mind being shorter than Rod.
They had a gigantic fireworks show after dark. Toot has movies of it and much better than I have. This was the last one I took. Some I deleted, because till I aimed after they were over!

Labor Day 2009

Amy volunteered to come and help me figure out how to scan old photos. Of course Joanna came too, and was very busy. Chase stayed home with his Daddy (Ricky), Chase napped and Ricky had things to do before going back to work tomorrow.

Amy helped me and I think I know how to do the things I want to do. Some of these times there will be some old photos on my blog.

Rita invited me to come over for a cook out. I had mowed my lawn in the morning - Amy came after lunch. I went to Wendells about 4:30.
When Rita invited me, I had an idea. I had a pie shell in the freezer and a container of sour cherries. So I baked a sour cherry crumb pie and took it along for dessert. Every good PA Dutchman has to have dessert!

This was Wendell's piece that he cut for himself.
There was over half the pie left. I brought a piece along home. The rest stayed at their house. Food tastes so much better when you eat with some one.

Yoder Reunion week end 2009

Reunions- renewing relationships and food and more food. It was held at Allensville Fire Company grounds. Two brothers being goofy. This is Jay and Glen sone of my Uncle Jakie. He was my Daddy's youngest brother. Jay was born (I think) in August of 1950 and Judy was born in December the same year.
The fire company has a playground for kids. The girl at the far r5ight is Jay's daughter. The girl on the left is married to Glen's son. I'm not sure who the other girl is- one of the girls who married a Yoder.

The older folks sat around and enjoyed talking. The girl on the left is sitting beside her mother in law, Dorothy who is married to my cousin Marlin. The girl with the red jacket is my cousin Joe's daughter Peggy.
Here we have more conversation. The one with her hand up is married to my cousin Danny. The young girl on the left is engaged to Lois & Danny's grandson. The girl in the front is Lois & Danny's daughter. Lois is talking to Jay's wife Dee.
These are my cousins Joe, Marlin, and Danny. They are the sons of my Daddy's oldest brother, Dan. Any time you see these three brothers together they always sit according to age. Danny is the one who is having a drink. Danny is the oldest. His birthday is the day after mine and he is 87 now. He was in the Air Force in World War II and the Germans thought he was a German because they could understand his PA Dutch. He and Lois visited some of his German friends several years ago.Some of the playground equipment. Coleton (Jenny's son) is the one wearing the hat.

We took several Cousin pictures. Sara Ann and I were the only girl cousins. Danny Lee had three sons: Anny, Marlin, and Joe. Of course my family was me, Sara Ann and Chuck. Chuck didn't make it in from Michigan.
My youngest Uncle Jakie had three sons, Glen, Lloyd and Jay. Lloyd died several years ago.
